New Delhi, 25 December 2009: Lok Sabha Speaker Smt Meira Kumar and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha  Smt Sushma Swaraj led parliamentarians in paying floral tributes to Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his birth anniversary today.

Union Minister Shri Kapil Sibal; Members and former Members of Parliament  also paid tributes to Malaviya.

Senior officers from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats also attended  the function.

A booklet containing the profile of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries.

Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya’s portrait  was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 19 December 1957, in recognition of his outstanding services to the nation.
